With so much happening in World Cup Cricket it was unavoidable to blog about it anymore.
To start with....I LUUUUUUUUV Sachin...
He is THE Man in cricket.
To do what he did in the Chennai stadium... maaaaannn.
Probably he answers only to his conscience and cricket. That can be the only reason he walked away. No wonder he is one of the very rare GENTLEMEN in cricket. This is the 6th time Sachin is playing for the Indian team in the World Cup, not once has he complained, not once has he wavered from loyalty for the game, not once has he been in any controversy and that man does not play for his personal gain.....
Can you imagine his feeling...anyone else in his place would have felt let down by the team and would have been crying out loud but this guy is humility personified.
People like Ponting, Sreeshant, Bhajji should take humility lessons from him, well they need to....desperately...That guy has been playing for the team consistently for as long as I remember.
India as a team has not being doing as expected in the field. It has become difficult for the team to even survive the 50 over match in the field and this is not once or twice. I mean C’mon… that’s not acceptable. After the match with England, a friend of mine had a FB status that said something like this "By the time Sachin got out and was changing from his sweats, the rest of the team had also reached the changing room” which is funny because it was NOT an exaggeration. I don’t think India deserves to win the World Cup, before you hit that little cross to exit from the page... i mean I really really really want India to win obviously but I expect them to win in a way that will make us proud and not say " India won because the other team did not play well". I want India to win because India SHOULD have won and because India played awesomely well.
Considering Sachin’s tenure, he will obviously be creating new milestones with every match he plays now. And God only knows how many ages, decades or even more it will take for someone else to even match up to his milestones. Crossing his milestones is a really really really really ( enough reallys ??) long shot. I say this because that combination of dedication, loyalty and passion is rare, very rare.
He is indeed the GOD of cricket and I wish him all the LUCK.
I am praying India wins the Cup not because they deserve to but because they really owe it to Sachin.
