First Aamir and now this…… wonderful movie from Rajkumar Gupta showing regular men/ women going that extra mile to make a
difference.
For a movie buff like me NOKJ was a wonderful way to start my movie marathon for 2011.

Rani Mukherjee’s portrayal of a gutsy, vigorous reporter is noteworthy.
Vidya Balan’s role of a simple girl fighting for justice for her sister is bang on. The different phases she goes through the years of trial, initial anger to feeling helpless and lost to being indifferent and giving up, all is done beautifully.
My favorite scene was right in the beginning of the movie: Sabrina’s utter disbelief that somebody with money in their hands and power in their head could shoot Jessica just because she refused the guy one drink.
This is a country where loads of ‘Somebody’ exists.
This story is one of the very few such stories that have an ending where justice is upheld (though delayed).
There must be innumerable stories which have not seen justice.

Aarushi murder case for one seems to be on its way to be such a case.
How can anyone accept that CBI does not have any evidence to help find the murderer?
How can the case be closed with the CBI blaming it on the local police for tampering the evidence?
Is it not anyone’s responsibility if the evidences have in fact been tampered with?
Why should Aarushi’s family have to accept that their child’s murderer will walk away free just because our law keepers are incompetent?
Probably there is a ‘Somebody’ in play here. He is probably relaxing knowing he has paid enough people enough money to keep him safe, while Aarushi’s family is running around desperate for justice.
Hope justice is upheld soon in Aarushi’s case.
As for the movie No One Killed Jessica….. do watch it for the performances.
